Zetta Scheu age 91, a Manitowoc resident, died Monday June 17, 2013 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The former Zetta Westman was born on March 20, 1921 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Alfred and Florence (Rowan) Westman. She grew up and attended school in Milwaukee. On August 1, 1942 she was married to Harvey E. Scheu in Sherman, TX. Harvey preceded her in death on August 14, 2012. Zetta enjoyed playing bridge, music and dancing. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi parish and a former president of the Knights of Columbus ladies auxiliary.
Survivors include one son: Jeffrey Scheu, Tomahawk; and his special friend: Peggy Dorfschmidth; two daughters and sons-in-law: Pamela (Thomas) Handl, Manitowoc; Mary Beth (John) Philips, Seattle, WA; two grandchildren: Thomas Handl Jr., East Norwalk, CT; and his special friend: Jacinth Hall; Melissa (David) Nadeau, Denver, CO; five great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alfred and Florence Westman; two sons: Richard and Gregory Scheu; her husband: Harvey Scheu; and one sister: Faith Westman.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Waldo site. The Rev. Dave Pleier will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial of her cremated remains to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Manitowoc is serving the Scheu family.
