Terry was born on January 24, 1947 in Manitowoc to the late Paul and Marjorie Franke Allen. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1965. Terry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country from May of 1966 until his honorable discharge in May of 1970. On March 12, 1972, Terry married Connie Buck at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liberty. Terry had been employed in maintenance at Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc and retired from the Manitowoc Public School District after 32 years of service in the maintenance department. Terry was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and also was an usher.

Terry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Terry taught himself how to play the harmonica and guitar and enjoyed playing them for his family.

Terry was very proud of the fact that he pitched for the Lincoln Ship's baseball team when they made it to the state championship game his senior year. He loved the game of baseball and enjoyed coaching the Small Engine little league teams in Manitowoc as well as playing softball in the city leagues for many years.

Terry was a gifted man who could fix or build just about anything. He enjoyed using his talents to assist anyone who needed a helping hand. Terry had a wonderful sense of humor, which included the clever use of puns.
