Bruns, Edwin (Jerry) G.



Edwin G. (Jerry) Bruns, age 70, a Manitowoc resident, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on July 16, 1944 in Manitowoc, son of the late Milton and Sally (Binversie) Bruns. Jerry was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1962 and also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. He was a 7 year Veteran of the United States Navy in submarine service. Jerry was employed in several sales, management and production positions in Manitowoc and Real Estate sales in Florida. He was a founding member of the Manitowoc Maritime Museum. Jerry enjoyed golf, poker, tennis, cars and boats.

Survivors include a daughter: Pam VandenHoven, Browns Valley, CA; and a son: Darrick Bruns, Manitowoc. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Jeffery.

Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Jerry's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and all SUBVETS and their families have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Jerry will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot.
