Neuman, Alvin L.

Alvin L. Neuman, age 92, formerly of 1318 S. 32nd Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on February 8, 1924 in Montello, Wisconsin, son of the late Joseph and Verona (Helenik) Neuman. On October 10, 1942 he married the former Violet E. Bergquist at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2004. Alvin was employed at Weyerhauser Company for over 42 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Alvin was an avid coin collector.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Diane & Cory Prindle, Whitelaw, Bonnie Bierman, Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Wendy Kurth & her husband Andy, Manitowoc, Shane Nething, Manitowoc; five great grandchildren: Nicole, Aimee, Amber, Tyler and Brandon; one great great grandchild: Jaden; two brothers: Lester Neuman, Wisconsin Rapids, Mark Neuman, Milwaukee; one sister-in-law: Carol Neuman, Manitowoc; and a brother-in-law: Terry Rank, Manitowoc. He is further survived by a sister-in-law: Gladys Bergquist, Manitowoc and a brother-in-law: Norman Ploor, Prairie du Chien. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law: Ronnie Bierman; five brothers and three sisters-in-law: Verlin & Audrey Neuman, Francis & Helen Neuman, Joyce Neuman, Robert Neuman, Donald Neuman and Raymond Neuman; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Myrtle & Elmer Ohm, Joanne & Ruben Ploeckleman, Delores Rank; and a sister-in-law: Mary Neuman. He is further preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Arthur and Viola (Heise) Bergquist; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Betty & Jack Leibly, June & Frank Kowalski, Ione & Leo Kahl, Darlene & Bill Bergquist, John Bergquist and Helen Ploor.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, (TODAY) April 2, 2016 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt.

Alvin will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, (TODAY) April 2, 2016 until 10:00 a.m.
