Aberasturi, Florence
Florence Louise Aberasturi October 2, 1936 - April 10, 2015 Florence Louise Aberasturi (Louise) passed away peacefully on April 10, 2015 after a long and courageous fight with COPD. Born on October 2, 1936 to Robert and Thelma Upham of Ashton Idaho. The youngest of three, Louise adored her brother, William (Bill) and sister, Ruth (Blondie), remaining close to Ruth until the end. While very young, her family moved and settled in Wilder, Idaho, where Louise went to school graduating from Homedale High School. Louise met David Aberasturi while in school, and they married shortly after graduation. Their union produced five boys, Anthony (Tony), Kelly, Richard (Rick), Mitch and Julian. At the time of her passing, Louise had been blessed with 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren (with four more on the way!!). Always good with numbers, Louise made her mark in banking working for First Security and later with Wells Fargo. She took great pride in her work, and the independence and security her work provided for her. Louise always dreamed of owning her own home, a goal she fulfilled when she purchased her home in Meridian. She saw the potential in the little house and turned it into a beautiful home with her vision, and a great deal of help from her boys, and nephew-in-law -Ralph. Louise loved her boys, even when we were young and wild. She watched proudly as we became men, welcoming daughters-in-law (Robin, Kathy, Sherry and Gayla), and each of her grandchildren (John, Ty, Cody, John, Rebecca, Chris, Emily, Sierra, Seth, Kristen, Ryan, Curtis, Carter and Gabby) and great-grandchildren (Madelynn, Logan, Faith, Destiny, Derek, Morgan, Katelyn, Matthew, William, Allie, Aiden, Oliver, Mikaiala, Roary, Elizabeth, Dominic, Skyler, Davin) with an open heart. Louise suffered the great loss of losing a child when Tony was laid to rest in Wilder. Louise is lovingly remembered by her family and preceded in death by her parents, brother and son. It is Louise's wish to be laid to rest with her family in the Wilder Cemetery. Louise will be laid to rest with a graveside service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Wilder Cemetery followed by a remembrance luncheon at the Basque Center in Homedale. The Aberasturi family would like to thank the staff of Alpine Meadows Assisted Living, and Legacy Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Louise in her final days. In lieu of flowers, being a life-long dog lover, mom would have appreciated your donation to the Idaho Humane Society in her name. idahohumanesociety.com or contact Chris (208) 387-2760. Services are under the direction of Cremation Society of Idaho.

Avery, Gene
Gene Arthur Avery 1936 - 2015 Gene Arthur Avery, 78, peacefully passed away at home in Nampa, Idaho on April 14, 2015. Gene was comforted by his wife Lois and his eldest son Mark during a brief battle with Cancer. Gene was born in Donnelly, Idaho in 1936 and he was raised in Council, Idaho. Gene attended school in Council where he played basketball and football in High School. After graduation Gene proudly served in the U.S. Army. His duty station was in Europe. Gene always joked that he went over and won the war. Upon return to the states Gene married Helen Champion and they had four children, Kristen (Avery) Fuller, Mark Avery, Robin (Avery) Murphy and Chad Avery (and his wife Janet). Gene and Helen would later divorce. In 1971, Gene and his family moved to Alaska where Gene would eventually work for the Public Health Service which took him to many remote locations in Alaska and he experienced many new adventures. It was in Anchorage, Alaska that Gene met, as he would always say "the love of his life" Lois. They were married December 16, 1982. With that marriage was an addition to the family of Becky (Richardson) Starry and her husband Jack. Gene and Lois enjoyed many great times in Alaska and eventually settled in Nampa, Idaho for retirement. Gene loved many things in life, family first and foremost; he was an avid pilot that flew to many remote Alaskan locations. He enjoyed driving semi-tractors and trailers and spent many years behind the wheel. Gardening was another of his favorites and he especially enjoyed eating the fresh vegetables. Gene will be held tightly in our hearts and thoughts. He will be dearly missed. In this time of sadness we know how very fortunate we are to have known him and the pleasure to experience all that he had to share. Gene is survived by his wife Lois, his brother William (Bill) Avery, and Gene's children, Kristin, Mark, Robin, Chad, Becky and their spouses, 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren, and various other family members. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Dorothy (Downend) Avery, his younger brother James (Jim) Avery and his nephew Jeffrey (Jeff) Avery. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 17, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
