Anne M. Svehlak Irwin
1930 - 2014
Anne Irwin passed quietly at home on March 22, 2014. She was 83 years old and lived a long and fulfilling life.
Anne was born in Tabor, South Dakota on July 22, 1935. The family moved to Nampa, Idaho and eventually settled on a farm on Midway Road. The farm stayed in the Svehlak family until it was sold by Anne in 2005.
Anne attended primary school at St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from Nampa High School. After graduation she spent her career working for Idaho Power Company, and IBM Corporation in Boise, Idaho until she retired in 1985.
She received many accommodations as a valued employee from both companies. In 1963, Anne married the love of her life, Homer Irwin and spent 40 years of life together until his passing in 2003.
Following Anne's retirement in 1985 she decided to do something different. She took pride baking and decorating fancy cakes and cookies and took piano lessons. Anne was loved and treasured by her nieces and grand-nieces. For 26 years the ladies of Anne's family would plan a Christmas luncheon and spend a special day with her.
Anne is survived by two nieces, Rose (Mel) Schulte and Linda (Dave) Phillips, and several grand-nieces and nephews.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; parents, Pauline and Frank Svehlak; brothers, Louis and Frank Svehlak, and Sister Mary Mikolasek.
The family wishes to thank all the wonderful care givers and individuals at HealthWatch Care Givers and Horizon Home Health Hospice for their special attention and compassion they showed Anne during her difficult final days.
Dear Anne rest in peace, we will truly miss you.
