Dallas Dean Lawrence, 75 of Caldwell, passed away at his home on January 2, 2013 of natural causes. He was born in Nampa, Idaho, on January 8, 1937 to Linnel and Elsie Lawrence. He was raised in Nampa, where he attended school. Dallas joined the United State Marine Corps in 1954. After his Honorable Discharge Dallas finished high school and later graduated from Boise State Junior College. In 1958, he married Mildred (Millie) J. Fackrell and together they raised six children. Dallas worked 10 years for the city of Caldwell as a Draftsman. He then went to work for the State of Idaho as a Cartographer, retiring in 1997.
Dallas enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing, camping, and doing woodworking and oil painting. One of his fondest memories was going fishing last Father's Day with his three sons. He had a great sense of humor and was always ready to help others any way he could.
Dallas is survived by his loving wife, Millie; sisters, Blanche Glaub, Vila Adkins and Carolyn Young; brother, Clifford; his children, Charlotte, Daniel (Wendy), Sherry (Tom) McDougal, Traci (Allan) Kotula, Shane, and Jason; 12 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Prissy.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, Linnel and Elsie Lawrence; brothers, Dale, Virgil and Leland; and sisters, Dorles and Berle.
A potluck open house will be held on Tuesday afternoon, January 8th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at CV Peckham Community Center adjacent to Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
