Ethel was born to Harry Andrews and Cora-Bell Craft in Goodland, KS on October 25, 1934. Ethel was the youngest of 10 children. Ethel and her family moved to Nampa in 1938. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1952.
On January 22, 1955, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Crawford of Meridian. Together, they raised their children, Terry, Craig "Skip", Rick, and Joanne. Camping, fishing and snowmobiling were favorite activities of the family and were enjoyed even with the grandchildren. For 14 years Ethel worked as a waitress at two Meridian cafes, and 15 years in her son's Chevron convenience stores.
Ethel had a zeal for life matched by few. Her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and fun loving nature captivated those around her, especially her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. If there were pranks or grandkids getting in trouble, "Granny ET" was probably involved. Even as of late, you could find her riding ATV's and snowmobiles.
Music was a large part of her life. She sang in her church choir at Valley Shepherd Church of the Nazarene and Sweet Adelines. She also loved to dance, winning many ballroom dance competitions. The past several years brought many travel adventures to ET, including a Mediterranean cruise, an Alaskan cruise, and trips to Australia and Hawaii. Ethel's love of lighthouses is very evident on her counters, shelves, walls and yard. She also was a prolific reader and was never found without a book close by.
Ethel is survived by her children: Terry (Wanda) Crawford of Nampa; Rick (Helen) Crawford of Clallam Bay, WA; Joanne (Mike) Quinno of Boise; two sisters: Norma Coates of Nampa and Elsie (Bill) Smyser of Nampa and brother, Harry (Darlene) Andrews of Henderson, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken and son, Craig "Skip" Crawford.
The family expresses its gratitude to the nursing and physician staff of Meridian St. Luke's Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ethel's name to the Meridian Public Library or Valley Shepherd Church of the Nazarene.
