February 12, 1919 - March 19, 2013
Everett Ellison, 94, of Nampa, Idaho, a member of the "Greatest Generation" passed away on March 19, 2013 after a short but brave battle with cancer.
Everett was born on February 12, 1919 in Roy, Missouri, the second son of Johnnie Martin Ellison and Orpha Roller. He was raised in the hills of Douglas County and Springfield, Missouri. On October 29, 1938 he married Dorothy Mae White at Marshfield, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II
, being stationed at Treasure Island, San Francisco, California and Honolulu, Hawaii. After numerous trips back and forth between Idaho and Missouri, Everett and Dorothy settled in Nampa in 1952. Everett worked for the King Meat Packing Company and through several changes in ownership, finally retiring from Armour Meats in 1982. Everett enjoyed the outdoors, both camping and fishing in the mountains and keeping a well-manicured lawn with a bountiful garden. He liked to read and enjoyed westerns the most. He also enjoyed watching baseball on TV and watching the younger generation of his family participate in various sports.
Everett was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and son Evert Lee, parents, one brother and 3 sisters. He is survived by his daughter Pamela (David) Olsen of Nampa, Idaho. Grandchildren Lori (Jack) Evans of Salton, CA, Linda (Michael) Melton of Chester, VA, Scott Ellison of Lemon Grove, CA, Paul (Shelly) Bledsoe of Nampa, ID and Falacia (Donny) Davis of Boise, ID. Everett has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Everett requested no services be held, however, the family would like to invite extended family and friends to join them in a celebration of Everett's life at an open house on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 2-6 pm at Everett's home in Nampa.
