Hiro Kido, 89, of Nampa, ID formerly of Nyssa, OR, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Nampa's St. Alphonsus hospital. Hiro was born in Portland, OR on Nov. 30, 1923, the second of 5 children of Yuhei and Tomoyo Kido. He graduated from Gresham High School in 1941 and was part of the evacuation of Japanese Americans during WWII in 1942 when his family was relocated to Nyssa. Hiro married Miki Miwako Nakashima on June 14, 1953 and together they had 3 children. Hiro farmed in the Ontario area for 15 years, and then he built an import/export business that he ran until his retirement in 2000. In 1997 they moved to Nampa.
Hiro was preceded in death by his wife Miki and brother Mas. He is survived by his siblings, Nori Kondo, Hisako Yasuda, Bob (Yae) Kido, and sister-in-law Emi Kido, his children Sharlene (Doug) DesRochers, Scott (Lori Lovelace) Kido and Clark Kido. Grandchildren: Keith DesRochers, Kelli Ledeen, Lori Lopez; and Charlie, Grant, Jon and Maura Kido.
A Memorial Celebration will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at 2:00pm at Orphan Annie's, 801 Everett St., Caldwell, ID. Cremation and services are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences may be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
