Irene L. Hackler, 87, passed away peacefully on the evening of March 24, 2014 at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Nampa, Idaho, and is now living her eternal life with the Lord.
Irene was born in Los Angeles, California on November 30, 1926, the fifth and youngest child of Peter and Ylaria Lopez.
While attending Riverside College a friend introduced Irene to her future husband Gus Hackler. They retired in 2007 and moved back to Nampa. After the death of her husband, Irene became a resident of Sunny Ridge Retirement Center, where she made new friends and especially enjoyed the musical programs that were provided.
Some of Irene's favorite activities included bowling, gardening, baking and spending time with her grandkids. She also loved taking care of and being there for others; was always prepared with a hot meal and homemade cookies for anyone who happened to drop in for a visit.
Irene was a member of Nampa First Church of the Nazarene since moving to Idaho. She has shown a strong and faithful commitment to the church and God. She was involved with Caravans, choir, and taught many Sunday School classes.
