John Delbert Ortivez, 58, of Caldwell died Tuesday, May 15, 2013 at a Caldwell hospital. He was born June 4, 1954 in Gardner, Colorado to the late Jose Alonzo and Maria Delia Cortez Ortivez. He was reared and educated in Nampa, Idaho. He met the love of his life Armandina Amador while working for Carnation. Together they had 3 children: Abel & Donna, Joey & Rachel, and Amanda and Cecilio Ortivez Mercado. They have 11 grandchildren; Noah, Jasmine, Anthony, Soleil, Korina, Israel, Anthony, Kiara, Xzavian, Ariana and Janessa.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years Armandina A. Ortivez, children; Abel (Donna) Ortivez, Joey (Rachel) Ortivez and Amanda (Cecilio) Mercado, two sisters: Louann (Gary) Robison, Vicki Torres, and two brothers: Joe (Maria) Ortivez and Pete Ortivez and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his dad Jose Alonzo Ortivez, mom Maria Delia Cortes Ortivez and a brother Randy Ortivez.
A viewing will be held Wednesday May 22, 2013 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell from 5:00-8:00 pm with rosary recitation at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held Thursday May 23, 2013 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nampa at 10:30 am. Condolences for the family may be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
