Jose Jesus Jasso
July 11, 1923 - November 1, 2013
Jose Jesus Jasso passed away November 1, 2013, at the age of 90 of natural causes with his family by his side. He was born in Salamanca Guanajuato, Mexico (Puerto de San Roque) on July 11, 1923. He married Isidora Alvarez Lira in 1945. They migrated to the United States and settled in Caldwell, Idaho in 1960, where it became their permanent home with their 9 children.
Jose was a very hard worker and always provided for his family. He worked construction in Mexico City lifting bags of cement up long stairways and mixing cement with a shovel. In the United States he worked as a farm laborer, as a firefighter fighting forest fires all over the country, and finally at Musser Seed Co. in Caldwell which later became Roger's Bro.
During the summers, Jose would plant a beautiful garden full of Jalapenos, tomatoes and a variety of other vegetables. The Jalapenos were so abundant that he sold them locally for a dollar a pound. Sometimes the jalapenos couldn't grow fast enough for the high demand.
Jose is preceded in death by his father Salvador Jasso and mother Margarita Amesquita, his brothers and sisters Jose, Salvador, Mercedes, Ramon Jasso, and beautiful daughter Alicia Jasso. He leaves behind his wife, Isidora Jasso, sons, Jose De Jesus, Roberto, Francisco, Rojelio, Javier, daughters Margarita, Maria Elena, and Juanita. He was a grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Heart n Home Health Hospice for their wonderful care of their father during his last few months.
A viewing will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 PM with Rosary Recital at 7:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel.
