Lester L. Tuning , 83, died Friday, July 19th, at a local Hospital in Boise, Idaho. Military graveside services will be held at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell on Wednesday, July 24th at 10:30 am. Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com.
Lester was born on June 15th, 1930 in Roswell, Idaho, to Harold and Liddie (York) Tuning. He attended school in Roswell and Parma. In 1949, Lester joined the army and served during the Korean conflict in Germany. He was a carpenter by trade and helped build many structures after leaving the army. Lester enjoyed the outdoors. He hunted and fished every chance he got. Lester was a pleasant person and seldom complained, even when his health was failing.
He is survived by a brother, Edgar (Edith) Tuning, half-brother, Harold James Tuning (Arkansas), stepson David Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Liddie Tuning, brothers Merle and Charles Tuning, and stepbrother, Lloyd (Butch) Lovins.
