Linda Jean Fisher Empey
1963 - 2013
Linda Jean Fisher Empey of Boise, Idaho passed away March 25, 2013 peacefully in her sleep. She grew up in Moreland, Idaho. Linda was born May 25th, 1963 to Jack and Jean (Evans) Fisher. Linda married Steven Holmes Empey on April 22, 1982 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple. Their son, Michael Steven Empey, was born on January 20th, 1984. Linda, Steve, and Mike lived in many places. When Steve was in the military, they were stationed in Germany. They also lived in Rexburg, Moreland, Driggs, Blackfoot, Pocatello, Kuna, and Boise, Idaho, in addition to Boardman, Oregon. Linda graduated from Snake River High School. She earned an Associates of Arts and Sciences in History and met her husband while attending Ricks College (BYU-I). She also took university classes and trained as a Red Cross Volunteer in dental assisting while in Germany. In Pocatello she studied primary and secondary education at ISU. She suffered lingering health problems after a car accident in 1995. Linda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a visiting teacher and family history consultant positions in the church as well as a den mother in scouting. She enjoyed doing genealogy, indexing, and loved all animals, especially her birds and her dogs. Linda is survived by her husband, Steven Holmes Empey of Boise; her son, Michael (Mike) Steven Empey of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Gary (Deon) Fisher of Rexburg, Idaho; sisters, Julie (Leo) Wallace of Blackfoot, Idaho and Kathy Janett Fisher of Taylorsville, Utah; and her father-in-law, Darrell Empey of Driggs, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Fisher, and her mother, Jean (Evans) Fisher.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the Relyea Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends on Friday evening, March 29, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Relyea Funeral Chapel and on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 1, 2013 in the Ammon Cemetery, Ammon, Idaho. Services are under the direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel.
