Marvel L. Loosli
February 12, 1923 - April 26, 2014
Marvel Loretta Naumann Loosli, 91, of Caldwell, passed away April 26, 2014 of natural causes at Treasure Valley Life Care Center in Boise, ID.
Marvel was born February 12, 1923 in Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa. She was the oldest child of George Alfred Naumann and Vira Eleanor Meeker Naumann. She moved with her sister, Viola Eleanor Ramerez, her brother, Ronald Edward Naumann and her parents to Nampa, Idaho in 1937. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1942.
On May 6, 1942 she married Dick Jackson of Ola, Idaho and in August of 1942 she joined her husband in Stockton, California where he was stationed during WWII. When the war was over they returned to Caldwell.
Marvel and Dick had six children: Lanorah Helen Jackson, Loretta Eleanor Jackson, Phyllis Kay Jackson, William Alfred Jackson, Donald Edward Jackson and Phillip Melvin Jackson. Dick passed away on April 11, 1961, in Walla Walla, Washington.
Marvel married Lundy Ray Loosli on June 3, 1972 in Carson City, Nevada and they made their home in Caldwell. Marvel was a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kimball Ward, Boise. In previous years Marvel was a Caldwell Stake Genealogy Consultant and a member of the Idaho Scanners Association in Canyon County.
Her hobbies were sewing, ceramics, rose gardening, home making, genealogy, family history, camping and taking care of her grandchildren. She was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild and 9 step great- grandchildren. She loved her family and enjoyed preparing Thanksgiving dinner every year for them. She encouraged her family to be honest and courageous by the examples she set for them in her own life. She loved her Heavenly Father and loved to serve Him and her family.
Marvel is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, her brother, Ronald Edward, two sisters, Lanorah Lillian and Viola Eleanor Ramerez, a daughter, Phyllis Kay Ricks, a son, William Alfred and a grandson, Brain Lee Potter. She will be missed by family and friends who loved her.
A viewing for Marvel will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Graveside services will be Friday, May 2, 2014 at Cloverdale Memorial Park, Boise at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Idaho Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 1854, Boise, ID 83701.
