Richard Dale Grandstaff

Richard Dale Grandstaff passed away with family at his side on March 17th, 2013 from natural causes. Richard was born October 23, 1930 in North Platte, Nebraska. Richard was a U.S. Navy
veteran and served from November 1947 to 1951. He always said he did 3 years for him and 1 for Harry. Richard barbered for more than 50 years, mostly in the Yakima Valley. His claim to fame is his father, James Madison Grandstaff, who was the 2nd best barber he ever knew, because Richard himself was the first. Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty, two children, Charlotte "Grandstaff" Foster and Dale Madison Grandstaff. Richard is survived by his son Darrel L. (Jackie) Grandstaff and two daughters, Charlene (Marion) "Grandstaff" Lykes and Cynthia J. (Kenneth) "Grandstaff" Geertson. Richard has eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth Pruitt, Landon Helgeson, Angelia Cowen, Joseph Foster, Matthew and Jeremy Grandstaff, Eric and Dale Harwood, Daniel and Robert Spencer, Chalah Lykes and 13 great grandchildren.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Calvary Chapel Yakima Valley in Yakima, Washington. Burial with military honors will be held at 1:30 P.M.
