Robert E Haines, 85 of New Plymouth, Idaho passed away in his sleep on April 25, 2014 after a battle with cancer. Bob grew up on a ranch in Jordan Valley, Oregon and graduated from Jordan Valley High School.

Bob and Delores farmed in Kuna, Idaho until 1958 when they were able to purchase a ranch in Jordan Valley, Oregon. Next to his family, Bob's biggest love was the ranch and cattle, he was the ultimate cowboy.
In 1978 they sold the ranch in Jordan Valley and went into semi-retirement moving to Marsing, Idaho. However he could not stay away from cattle and soon had another herd as he started to raise Saler cattle. He traveled throughout the west showing his prize bulls while winning many awards. He served on both the Idaho and the National Saler Board of Directors.
Bob was an avid elk hunter and spent many enjoyable hours stalking them in Idaho and Oregon. He liked to camp and enjoyed the outdoors and in later life bought an ATV and he enjoyed driving through the mountains, often going to remote places where he had no business to be.
