Shirley L. Johnson
July 30, 1929 - March 12, 2014
Our beloved mother Shirley L. (G.G.) Johnson died very peacefully in her sleep, at her home, Wednesday morning March 12, 2014. Mom was born in Jay Em Wyoming, on July 30, 1929 to George Clifford Fox and Opal Nevada Emmons. She lived most of her life in Caldwell, Idaho. She married Ronald Bethel December 10, 1945, and they had 4 children, Vikki, Yvonne, Michael, and Carol. They divorced in 1955. Mom was a hard working single mother, working at Glen Evans Fly Shop, Kit, Simplot and sewing for others in her spare time. She was a wonderful mother and a special grandma, lovingly known as G.G. to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Every year she celebrated her birthday as 'Children's Day' with a party and presents for all the grandkids. She attended all of their sports and school functions until health no longer permitted it. She married Richard Johnson in 1978 and had many happy years traveling and fishing together & especially 'the cousins' yearly get together on the coast.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Johnson; brother, Bud Fox; sister, Catharine Wallace; daughter, Yvonne Brazil; son-in-law, Larry Schroeder and life-long friends Dick & Janie Foote.
She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Davis-Nampa; brother, Gary Fox-Boise; children, Vikki (Buntley) Wilcox; son-in-law, Sam Brazil; son, Michael Bethel, and daughter, Carol Schroeder all of Caldwell. Her grandchildren, Kristie (Jim) Stout, Scott Wilcox, Greg (Chris) Wilcox, Shawna Schroeder, Rob Schroeder, Stacy (Rolyn) Severin, Jon (Kim) Bethel, Michelle (Kinley) Favinger and many adoring great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews to numerous to mention.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, (corner of Karcher Rd. and Indiana Ave.), Caldwell. No flowers please.
We want to thank the staff at Heart and Home in Caldwell for all of their genuine love, care, and support for all of us. We couldn't have done it without you. What a blessing you all are.
Cremation is under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel. We appreciate you so much. Thank you.
