Stanley E. Schindele
February 19, 1936 - September 6, 2013
Stan Schindele, 77, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Boise VA Medical Center. Stan was born on February 19, 1936 in Nampa, Idaho to Elmer and Leola Schindele. Stan was the first born and was later joined by a sister, Sandra. Stan was raised and attended schools in Nampa. Following graduation from Nampa H.S., he volunteered for service in the U.S. Navy, where he served with honor.
Stan married Jacqueline Worthington on August 31, 1958, a marriage that lasted 55 years. They purchased his father's farm store and operated it for 18 years. Stan was not a stranger to hard work and the farm store provided it in abundance. After the sale of the store he became a substance abuse counselor. Then he subsequently owned an owner-operated Exxon service station in Seattle, WA. Stan and Jackie are the parents of three children; Scott (Alicia), Jennifer Lowery (Mike), Kathleen McKee (Cleddy). Stan was blessed with five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; all of whom made their Papa exceptionally proud.
Stan's passion for hot rods and customized cars stayed with him his entire life and he made many life-long friends. A favorite activity of Stan's was participating in a car club fundraiser for the Idaho State Veteran's Home for veterans w/o families. Stan's friends were just as special to him as were his customized cars; he firmly believed that you make friends with a smile and an encouraging word.
Stan's family wanted to express their deep gratitude to his family and friends for their support and St Luke's Hospice and Debbie for the special care they so graciously provided to Stan and to his wife, Jackie.
Interment will be at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift may be made to the Idaho State Veteran's Home.
