Ted L. Stevens

Ted Stevens, 74 of Wilder, past away with his family and friends by his side on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12th at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, with viewing hours Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Condolences and memories may be shared to the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com
Ted Lee Stevens was born to Lee Stevens and Stella Stevens on August 10, 1938. Ted was the first child and was followed by his sister, Patricia Stevens-Kibble in Wilder, Idaho. Ted lived his entire life in the Wilder area.
Growing up, Ted was actively involved with the family dairy farm, this included milking the cows, growing crops, and caring for the baby cows. Ted became involved with 4-H from the ages of 9-14 years old, showing dairy cows and beef cattle. At the age of 14, Ted joined the FFA and continued to show animals and was also involved with judging animals and crops. Ted had the honor of being State Treasurer of FFA between the years of 1957-1958. Around that time he began courting Marilyn K. Fuqua.
Ted and Marilyn soon married in 1962. Shortly after marriage they purchased their own dairy farm west of Wilder where they were dairy farmers and crop growers for over 35 years. Ted was dedicated to his family and community. Ted enjoyed spending time with family & friends and fishing & camping as much as he could.
Ted served 10 years on the State Dairy Board Commission, 25 years on the DHIA board, and the Young Cooperators for 10 years, 3 of those years he served as president. In 1954, Ted joined Grange and was a member for 60 years, during this time Ted served as Idaho Grange State Treasurer, serving as Master for 11 of those years. Ted was also a member of the Wilder IOOF Lodge for 27 years.
Ted is survived by his sister, Patricia (Bill) Kibble of Boise; daughters, Belinda (Neil) Williams and Colleen (Wayne) Foster, all of Wilder; son, Randy (Diedre) Stevens of Boise; 7 grandchildren, Brandon, Sierra and Bo Stevens, Robert, Amanda, Kimberly and John Foster; 6 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Ted was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, and parents, Lee and Stella Stevens.
