Thelma M. Pirnie
April 24, 1916 - June 4, 2013
Thelma May Collins McCoy Pirnie, 97, of Caldwell passed away in a Boise hospital on 4 June 2013. She was born 24 April 1916 in Billings, British Columbia to Harry and Hazel Collins. She married Leslie James McCoy in 1937. They moved to the Flying W Dude Ranch in the Idaho Primitive Area where Les delivered the US mail via pack string. During WWII Les was a diamond driller for the war effort producing strategic materials at Stibnite, Idaho. After the war they were cattle ranchers in Washington for several years and eventually returned to Idaho. Les died in 1960. Thelma married Joseph Edgar Pirnie in 1965. They made their home in Caldwell. Joe died in 2008. She retired from Idaho First National Bank.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and her brother, James V. Collins.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Patricia McCoy of Boise, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thelma was a lively, strong lady who loved to travel, fish, and spend time with her family and friends. She was a true Idaho pioneer and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 10, 2013, 3:00PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with viewing one hour prior to service.
