Virginia Tester Obituary

Virginia "Ginger" June Tester, 76, of Nampa, passed away at a Nampa hospital on Thursday, May 12, 2011.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. So. – Nampa – 466-3545. Military honors will be provided by personnel from the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Mountain Home, Idaho. Memories and condolences may be sent to www.alsipfuneralchapel.com.
Virginia June (Morris) Tester was born on Dec. 2, 1934, in Dolores, Colo., the daughter of Earl and Geneva Morris. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1952. She married Ted Tester on July 28, 1956. They met in Spokane, Wash., where they were both serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Ginger and Ted had their first son, Kevin, born on July 19, 1957, in Nampa. Ginger and Ted served in various parts of the world from the Philippines to Houston, Texas, where their son, Joel was born on April 16, 1965. From there they lived in Alabama, Minot, N.D., and Rapid City, S.D., where their son, Christopher was born on June 24, 1973.
As a family, they enjoyed camping in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Ginger loved taking their dogs with them on their camping trips and spending her days bank fishing.
In 1974, Ted retired from the U.S. Air Force and they made their home in Nampa where they built a home in the Rolling Hills subdivision. In 1978 they moved into town where they have since resided.
Ginger loved spending time with her family and playing horseshoes for hours at family reunions. Her family will miss her very much as she was loved by all of them.
Ginger is survived by her husband, Ted Tester, Nampa; her brother, Charles Morris, Nampa; and her sons, Kevin, Joel and Christopher Tester, all of Nampa.
Mom was our rock that kept the Tester boys from hurting each other. She will be greatly missed.
We love you, Mom.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, George Morris, Jack Morris, Rev. Harry Morris and John Earl Morris, Jr.; her sister, Jane (Morris) Abbott; her brother-in-law, Forrest Abbott; sisters-in-law, Faith Morris and Maxene Morris.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman St., Boise, ID 83705, in honor of Ginger who loved dogs and all other animals. It was a blessing to have someone like our mother to share in our lives together.
