Wava Reed Obituary

Wava Wilda (Warner) Reed, 100, of Nampa, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011, at a local assisted living facility. A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the Nampa First Christian Church, 619 12th Ave. S. A private burial will precede the memorial service at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. The family will greet loved ones and friends at the funeral chapel on Wednesday evening from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Memories and condolences may be sent to www.alsipfuneralchapel.com.
Wava W. Reed was born on Sept. 14, 1910, in Canton, S. D., the daughter of John and Gertie Warner. She married her childhood sweetheart, Milton Green in 1925 and they made their home in Oregon. In 1935 they moved to California. They had 2 sons, Vernon and Dwight who are both deceased. At the age of 46 her husband preceded her in death.
In 1972 she married Allee Reed and they both worked for the Motion Picture Studios for years. In 1978 they retired and moved to Nampa. Allee preceded her in death in 1992.
Wava is survived by 2 granddaughters, Jackie McClary and Joyce Green in California; 8 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild all in California; her "adopted" family, Gladys Cunningham and Gloria and Claude "Sonny" Cox, all of Nampa and a special friend, Tina Clark. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister.
We love you, you will always be missed but never forgotten.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Nampa First Christian Church, 619 12th Ave. S., Nampa, Idaho 83651.
