Alvin Franklin Day, age 92, was called unto his eternal rest on November 12, 2013, at the home of his daughter Shelia in Middleton. Alvin was born December 13, 1920 at Toms Brook, Virginia: the youngest son of Albert Wilson and Vilonia Putnam Day. During WWII Alvin joined the US Army "Medics" in October 1943 at Fort Lee, Virginia. He was sent home on the Queen Elizabeth in June of 1945 (due to his injuries) landing him at Camp Kilmer, N.J. Alvin was sent to Camp Crowder in Neosho, Mo. to be discharged. While there he met Florence Lee Johns, they married New Years Eve of 1945 in Columbus, Ks.
He is survived by five daughters; Sondra and (Jerry) Buckley of Fair Play, MO; Shelia and (Bob) Walker of Middleton; Sharon Cemer of Nampa; Donna Bean of Nampa; Robin and (Steve) Kiernan of Kuna; and son Bruce of Nampa. 19 grand children; 36 great-grand children; and 17 great-great grand children. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 7 sisters; his eldest son Alvin Leon in 2010; and 2 granddaughters.
The funeral will be held on Monday November 18, 2013 at 2:00pm at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel ,Nampa, Id.
