Arthur Lee Heath
May 12th, 1970 - December 21st, 2012
Arthur Lee Heath "The Animal" was taken from us on December 21, 2012, in a one car rollover in Caldwell Idaho, while on his way to work. For the past 10 years Art was an independent contractor for the Idaho Press Tribune. Prior to that, he was an automotive, commercial and residential painter.
Art was born in Pocatello, Idaho to Art and Peggy Heath on May 12th, 1970. He spent most of his life in the Pocatello and Nampa area.
On April 1st, 1989, he met his wife, Stacy, in Pocatello. They then married on April 1, 1996. On April 5th, 2006 they were blessed with a daughter Tayler Jayde Heath.
Art liked to hunt and fish, but in 2009 a very close friend, Gary Kyle, invited him to race at Meridian Speedway in a 250 Lap Enduro. From then on he was hooked, it became their life. Their days and nights were filled with getting cars ready for the next race. In 2010 he put his wife Stacy and Cousin Monica on the track! They became the Animal Racing Team, although Art did most of the work to keep them all out there. Monica and Stacy did what they could, but he was always one to put his own car on the back burner to help others get ready. Then the three of them would scramble to get there. But that's just how he was, always wanted more cars on the track and in his time there, he built several Hornets. He always said the more on the track, the more fun it was. Most of his racing was at Meridian Speedway where he met his many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Lee Heath, grandparents Bill and Pat Hoffman, and father-in-law Larry Shoopman.
Surviving members of his family are wife Stacy, daughter Tayler of Nampa. Parents Art and Peggy of Pocatello, mother-in-law Rose Shoopman, Terry Chandler of Nampa, sister Patricia Heath of Pocatello, sister-in-law Kim and Chad Heppner of Washington, grandmother Beverly Heath of Pocatello, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
