George Lewis Hendrickson, 88, of Nampa, Idaho went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 8th of 2013.
He was born in Mitchell, Nebraska on December 16th of 1924 to Susan and Onie Hendrickson. George graduated from Sunflower High School and received his Education Diploma from Chadron College.
George taught in Nebraska for a few years and then his parents moved to Idaho for greater agricultural opportunities, where he chose to follow them. In Idaho his parents bought a farm in Homedale, Idaho and George then received employment at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital then to be called West Valley Medical Center for 25+ years where he retired.
He attended United Methodist Church in Wilder, Idaho and Southside Methodist Church in Nampa, Idaho. He was considered a pillar of his church and serving was one of his greatest joys. One of his fondest memories was his walk to Emmaus during the United Methodist Conference.
One of George's life passions was to garden, he was known to all friends and family for having the most weed free and beautiful yard. He enjoyed playing cards with family/friends and was a serious but fun canasta die-hard player. The fondest of memories from his friends and family is that he loved and showed this to everyone with his presence, wit and amazing sense of humor to the very end, we will all miss him very dearly.
George is proceeded in death by his parents Onie and Susan Hendrickson, his sisters Emily Fellows and Ester Heidel and his brothers Earl Hendrickson, Leon Hendrickson and Lloyd Hendrickson. Survived by his sister Rose Elgin, nephew Scott Little and Ronnie Heidel, nieces Linda Goff and Jan Hendrickson and to include great nieces and nephews, all of which he truly loved and was loved by.
