Joyce Simpson Tilzey Obituary

Sept 18, 1935-April 16, 2011
Joyce C. Tilzey went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Coffeyville, Kan., and graduated from Kansas State University with a music degree. She enjoyed teaching private music lessons and truly appreciated hymns and classical music.
She reluctantly left behind her husband of 53 years, Winston Tilzey, and her seven children. Katrina(Bruce)McGillivray, Dennis(Bethany)Tilzey, Anita(Darrin)Fischer, Alicia(Tom)Wiley, Chelly(Justin)Bennett, Jill(Jesse)Ortiz, and Vanni(Laurel)Tilzey, and 32 grandchildren.
She also is survived by her sister, Janice (Robert) Weber.
Her first two children were born in Topeka, Kansas. Joyce followed her husband to Deming, N.M., where the rest of her children were born.
In 1972, the family moved to Three Hills, Alberta, Canada, where she played the violin in the orchestra at PrairieBible Institute.
One of her favorite activities was to spend time outside with the animals and working in her gardens.
In 1981, the family moved to Nampa, Ida., where Joyce established a large network of music students and friends. During her time here she played the violin in the Caldwell Symphony and the Meridian Symphony and performed with the Nazarene production of "No Greater Love." She was extremely passionate about music and presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those around her, both by her words and her example.
Joyce's greatest joy was to see that all of her children are continuing to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Caldwell First Baptist Church, 221 E. Linden, Caldwell.

Dear Winston and family, we send our love and prayers to you. Joyce was such a loving and caring wife and mother and grandmother. She adored her family and spent much time telling stories about each of them. Her love of animals was an indication of her tender heart for all of God's creatures. We will miss seeing her smiling face. How thankful we are that she is in the loving arms of Jesus now where we who love the Lord will someday see her again.
