Judy Lynn Burbank Allen
July 19, 1947 - December 8, 2012
Judy Allen, 65,of Caldwell, Idaho passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer, on Dec. 8, 2012, with family by her side. She was born on July 19, 1947 to Charles and Letha Johnson Burbank in Logan, Utah. She was the youngest of three girls.
Judy grew up in Richmond, Utah. After high school she moved to Salt Lake to attend beauty school. She met Bob Allen and they married on March 11, 1967. After living in Lewiston, Utah for a few years, they moved their young family to Caldwell, Idaho. They were blessed with three children. Judy was able to stay home and raise her children until going to work for the Amalgamated Sugar Company in 1980, where she worked until her retirement in 2007.
Judy enjoyed her time at home, but she especially loved being in the presence of her family and friends. She loved to teach her grandchildren silly songs, read them books, and delight them with delicious ice cream bars.
Judy is survived by her husband Bob of Caldwell, two daughters, Jamie (Tom) Ritthaler of Caldwell, and Karie (Mike) Yost of Nampa, one son, Eric Allen of Marsing, two sisters, Lu Deen Christensen of Richmond, Utah and Leah Dawn (Le Grand) Reeder of Farmington, Utah, seven grandchildren, Cade (Andrea) Ritthaler, JT (Amanda) Corta, Lainey Ritthaler, Cody Corta, Ryan Wilkins, Karsyn and Kendal Yost and two great-grandchildren, Dusty and Lane. She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Keith Christensen.
A memorial service will be held at Dakan Funeral Home in Caldwell on Friday, December 14th at 10:30 a.m. and a viewing will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December13th.
The family would like to thank the staff of Annabelle House Assisted Living for their around the clock care of our mom, as well as Heart and Home Hospice Care and Honey Goodman of Treasure Valley Hospice.
Judy's family would like to offer a huge thank you to their many friends who have shown love and support during these last few months.
