Marilyn J. Bieker
11/14/1928 - 7/5/2013
Marilyn Bieker passed away on July 5, 2013, at a local care center; she was 84 years old. Marilyn was born on a rural farm near Cottonwood, ID, on November 14, 1928, the daughter of Urban and Nellie (Asker) Lester. After graduation Marilyn attended the University of Idaho to study English. She married her Husband for life, James Bieker, on June 12, 1948. Marilyn gave up her dreams of becoming a teacher and became a loving wife and mother to Diane, Sandy and Tom. The family resided in Troy, Idaho and Potlatch, Idaho before moving to Nampa in 1972. She worked until retirement at West Jr. High and Nampa High School. She loved playing cards with her friends and loved bowling, playing on many teams throughout her lifetime and riding the Fun Bus to Jackpot. She loved going out to eat as often as possible. All of these things brought her so much joy and happiness. Her health later in life did not allow her to continue bowling, but it didn't stop her from watching all the bowling she could find on TV.
Marilyn was a wonderful person and was generous and caring to her family. Marilyn lost her husband on October 24, 2004. She lived several years alone or being cared for by care givers provided by Multi-Care. Thank you for the care that was provided during that time. She moved to Meridian Care Center a few years ago where she received excellent care and lots of love. The family would like to thank the staff at Meridian Care for doing everything possible to keep her healthy and happy. We really appreciate your love and kindness. Also, to Legacy Hospice who saw our mom home to be with God.
She is survived by her three children, Diane, Sandy and Tom. She also has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Pat Whitely, and her husband Jim.
Mom, we know you are happy and free of pain now. You are now our special Guardian Angel watching over us all. We will always love you and never forget you! A memorial mass will held on Friday June 19, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Pauls Catholic Church, 510 W. Roosevelt, Nampa. To share a memory of Marilyn or to offer condolences to Marilyn's family visit
