September 16, 1948 - June 3, 2013
On Monday, June 3rd, we lost an amazing person. To say he was a great father, brother and friend, would be an understatement. Rick has left a hole in all of our hearts that will never be filled. He was an honest, straight-shooting, hard worker who would literally give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Rick was born September 16, 1948 in Twin Falls, Idaho, the son of Elmon "Slim" and Ernestine Fox. He graduated from Borah High School in 1966, and shortly after married his high school sweetheart, Linda Cornwell. They moved to Parma, where they raised three sons that he was so very proud of.
Rick was a very skilled. heavy equipment operator, lending his hand running cranes and excavators and supervising many monumental construction projects all over the state. He worked for years in California and Arizona on projects in the Grand Canyon and the Bay Area. He made a name for himself as a very talented project manager and estimator. He was employed by Paul Construction for over 30 years.
Rick loved family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children.
Rick leaves behind his sons, Tony, Chris, and Kelly Fox; daughters-in-law, Paula and Jodi; granddaughters, Maranda and Taylor; grandsons, Jason and Chad; sisters, Mary Jo Smith (Ray), Linda Smith (Richard), Peggy Paul (Jim), Paula Lambert (Jim), and Pam Valley (Rob); numerous nieces and nephews, and recently found out he was going to be a great-grandpa.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Jerry Ray; and sister, Patsy Shane Rayer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8th at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Burial will follow at Roswell Cemetery, Roswell. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com. Please feel free to dress casual, Rick was most comfortable in his jeans and t-shirts. Afterwards, join us for an old fashioned wake at the home of Jim and Peggy Paul, 16429 N. McDermott Rd., Nampa. Come laugh, cry, and raise a glass with us as we celebrate Rick's life.
