He served in the Army as a scout and a sharp shooter during WWII. He was awarded the Purple Heart, but declined to accept it as he felt the tremendous loss of others during the war. Upon his return from the war he met and married the love of his life Juanita Bond, of Gate, Oklahoma, June 8, 1947. The couple resided in Laverne, Oklahoma until 1954 when they moved to Nampa, Idaho later moving to Caldwell in 1995.
Bob was a cowboy by birth, a carpenter by trade, and a rancher at heart. Upon moving to Idaho, Robert ranched and worked as a carpenter. He also worked for Nashua Trailer Factory and was a deputy county appraiser until he retired and began ranching with his wife and son, Nathan full time. His hobbies included horseback riding, hunting and fishing, gardening and most anything outdoors. Robert was a very humble man who was loved and respected by everyone who knew him.
Robert was a member of the Parma Nazarene Church. His passion in life was to first and foremost serve his Lord Jesus Christ. Second to God, Robert loved his wife, children, grandchildren and ranch life.
