Robert Miller Obituary

Robert "Bob" Elmo Miller, 91, of Caldwell, died at his home on Sunday, December 2, 2012. Bob was born on July 17, 1921, to William Jacob Miller and Alta May (Baker) Miller in Avard, OK. He served in the Army as a scout and a sharp shooter during WWII. He was awarded the Purple Heart, but declined to accept it as he felt the tremendous loss of others during the war. Upon his return from the war he met and married the love of his life Juanita Bond, of Gate, Oklahoma, June 8, 1947. The couple resided in Laverne, Oklahoma until 1954 when they moved to Nampa, Idaho later moving to Caldwell in 1995.
Bob was a cowboy by birth, a carpenter by trade, and a rancher at heart. Upon moving to Idaho, Robert ranched and worked as a carpenter. He also worked for Nashua Trailer Factory and was a deputy county appraiser until he retired and began ranching with his wife and son, Nathan full time. His hobbies included horseback riding, hunting and fishing, gardening and most anything outdoors. Robert was a very humble man who was loved and respected by everyone who knew him.
Robert was a member of the Parma Nazarene Church. His passion in life was to first and foremost serve his Lord Jesus Christ. Second to God, Robert loved his wife, children, grandchildren and ranch life.
Robert is survived by his wife Juanita of 65 years, brothers: Heber Miller of Iowa and George (Ruth) Miller of Idaho; sisters: Betty Lou (Arnold) Wendel of Iowa, Mary Ellen (Wes) Lane of Oklahoma, Eva (Rudy) Wilhite of Oklahoma; 6 children: David (Sharon) Miller of Idaho, Treva McHenry of Idaho, Viola Wickstrom of Wyoming, Nancy (Ron) Manley of Idaho, Nathan Miller of Idaho and LaDonna (Alan) Stoker of Idaho; 14 grandchildren: Robert E. Miller, Michael Miller, Luke (Odessa) McHenry, Eva (Luke) Folke, Nancy Jean (Scott) Lattimer, Linda Williams, Bonnie Robinson, David Wickstrom, Yvonne (Ben) Sparks, Dirk Manley, Roger Manley, Elizabeth Stoker and Benjamin Stoker. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. Special inclusion to Robert and Juanita's family include Jolene and Ted Daniels and Marci and Tim Wendland. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers: William Alfred Miller, Ted Job Miller and Norman Elmer Miller; grandson, Sidman Lee Elmo McHenry; son-in-law, Michael LeRoy Wickstrom and great-granddaughter, Mccaylee Cailen McHenry.
