Sam Lee Obituary

"Could be that the Good Lord likes a little pickin' too" - Excerpt from "Clayton Delaney" by Tom T Hall.
Sam Morgan Lee-age 56, of Nampa, died Saturday, April 30, 2011 in a Montana hospital after a brief struggle with cancer, complicated by liver disease.
Per Sam's final wishes, he was cremated immediately following his death and his ashes were spread at an undisclosed location. Sam had also requested that no services be held.
Sam was born Aug. 30, 1954, in Longview , Wash., to Chris Henry Lee Jr., and Ivagene Isola Rider Lee. However, he was raised from infancy in Mountain Pass, Nev., by his grandparents, Chris Henry Sr., and Mary Darlene Lee. They moved to Boise in the early 70s and Sam graduated from Capitol High in 1972. Throughout the years Sam held many jobs, mostly in the construction or painting industry. He even worked as a painter on the pipeline in Alaska. Sam also spent many years in prison, due to his addictions.
He found sobriety in the last few years of his life and died with his beloved Shannon, who helped him find that path, at his side.
At the time of his death, Sam was working at a career he truly loved, driving truck for Golden Eagle Trucking in Sidney, Mont.
Sam also loved to play his guitar and sing for anyone who would listen. Mostly though, he loved to play and sing for "his girl", Shannon.
Sam is survived by the absolute love of his life for 32 years, Shannon Jean Penson. He is also survived by his two "special" daughters; Pamela Duncan of Boise, and Jennifer Lambert of Culbertson, Mont., three grandchildren, Victoria Aksamit, Lily Wilson and Cody Duncan; three brothers, Frank, Doug and Robert Lee, three children, Jacob, Robin and Rebekah Lee; his mother, Iva Neuman, numerous extended family and his "special family" at Golden Eagle Trucking.
In honor of Sam and his favorite day of the year, John Wayne's Birthday, May 26, Shannon will host an open house at their Nampa home from 5 to 8 p.m., that day. There will be a memory box to place a memory of Sam.
