Tsutomu "Stomie" Hanami
Tsutomu "Stomie" Hanami, 97, of Nampa entered unto the presence of his Lord and Savior, Sunday, October 7, 2012 of natural causes. He was born February 9, 1915 to Shinshiro and Asa Hanami on the family farm in Rexburg, Idaho. Stomie worked on the family farm for 40-45 years then he became a Custom Farmer and worked in many areas in Idaho and Oregon.
He retired when he turned 70 years. Stomie met Rose in January of 1970 and they were married just six months later in July. With that marriage he gained three children. In 1982, on the last night of the B.G. Crusade, Stomie accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and later became a member of Treasure Valley Baptist Church.
Stomie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Frank, Doug, Tug, Yes and Tosa and one sister Edith. He is survived by his wife Rose; children: Cathy (Dan) O'Connell, Deborah (Joe) Welch, Rich (Betty) Provolt; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Treasure Valley Baptist Church, 1300 S. Teare Avenue, Meridian. Arrangements are being provided by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.
