H. Iris Lundy passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of Saturday, August 8, 2009. Iris lived a life of devout faith and service to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, family, and Church.
Life for Iris began in Hurdland, Missouri and after graduating from high school in Filer, Idaho, Iris married John Wesley Lundy on June 6, 1945 and moved to Nebraska to begin her life-long career of service as a happy minister's wife and impeccable home-maker. This life would take her to Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and back to Idaho. When she wasn't assisting her husband with ministerial services, she enjoyed creating beautiful oil paintings, writing touching poetry, and tending to her stunning gardens. Iris' skills as a cook and baker were unmatched and her family graciously reaped the caloric benefits for many years. As a long-standing member of the Church of the Nazarene, Iris Lundy tried to live her life as an expression of her Christian salvation.
Iris will be fondly remembered by many friends and relatives but especially by her husband of 64 years, John Lundy, her only son Elwynn, her daughter -in-law Myrt, her grandson Jonathon Nicholas Lundy, and her sister Mildred Stokesberry.
The burial proceedings will commence on Wednesday August 12, 2009 at 1:00 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM at Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions should be made to the Nampa Senior Center where Iris and John spent many happy hours sharing meals with their friends and family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heart 'n Home Hospice for their loving care.
