Eston Phillips, 91 of Nampa, Idaho passed away on Saturday morning February 15, 2014. Dad was born on Jan. 13, 1923 in McDonald County, Missouri to Ernest and Tessie Phillips. Dad was raised in the hills and hollers of McDonald and Barry Counties. Dad married Elsie Marie Cooper on May 24, 1944 in Yakima, Washington. Mom passed away in September of 1996. Dad was a partner and co-owner of Eston's Auto Repair in Nampa. Dad enjoyed playing the organ, violin, and harmonica. Dad's most enjoyable times were restoring and returning old cars back into service. Fishing and hunting played a large part in his life. Taking the motor home on camping trips and trips to Arizona was a thrill for him.
Eston is survived by his daughter Connie Ewing of Boise, son and daughter-in-law Ron and Martha Phillips of Kuna; two sisters Thelma Lee of Shelton, Washington and Geneva Sjurson of Boise; two sister-in-laws, Alice and Bunia Phillips; five grandchildren and spouses, David (Dawn) Ewing and Janet (Jason) Cahill of Boise, Georgiann (Mark) Wright and Crystal (Troy) Olson of Kuna, Cathy (Philip) Horton of Elgin, Oregon; seventeen great-grandchildren, Jared (Mary) Martin, Nathan (Tonie) Martin, Tierney (Tom) Knapp, Jacob and Capri Ewing, Keaton and Delaney Gillihan, Eli and Emmy Wright, Trevor, Macy and Brayden Olson, Emily, Zack and Megan Cahill, Hannah and Ryan Martin; 1 great-great-grandchild Jackson Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. Funeral service and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Cloverdale Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Boise, Idaho. Services will be officiated by Ron Phillips and Jason Cahill.
