Karen Kay Rowe
October 29, 1946 - April 8, 2014
Karen Kay Rowe, 67, of Caldwell, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. She is standing, once again with her mother, Lois, in the beauty of Heaven. The joy of "G-Ma" Karen's life was her family, friends and animals. Her home told the story of her love; filled with photos of wonderful memories and her three faithful dogs and cat.
Karen was born October 29, 1946 in Nampa, ID to Lois and Kermit Hale. She grew up in Nampa with her sister and brother and they had their fair share of humor and love. She kept these attributes throughout her life and instilled them in her four children.
She retired from the Idaho State School and Hospital after 30-plus years of service at the age of 55, at which time she spent a few years working for her brother a couple of days a week to stay busy. She gave that up and spent the remainder of her life taking care of the ones she loved.
Karen's parents, Lois and Kermit, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother and sister, Chuck (Trudy) Anthony and Janice Moser; her children: Jolyn (Brett) Rice, Jason (Lelia) Cherry, Jeremy Leuis, and Jana (Scott) Blele; her grandchildren: Kristin, Madilynn, Maranda, Jasmine and Gracie; great- grandchildren: Kaden, Brinleigh and soon-to-be Gentrie as well as several of her children's friends who referred to her as "Mom." Her sons-in-law and daughter -in-law were a vital and important part of her life.
The sadness we all feel now is a reflection of how much love she gave and the heavy hearts are a reflection of how much she was loved. "You will be missed beyond all words and you will never be forgotten."
Karen's viewing will be held on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 12:00-4:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell and a graveside service will be held Monday, April 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Following the service there will be a gathering at the Elks Lodge in Caldwell. Condolences to the family may be left at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
