Robert A. Stevenson

Robert A. Stevenson, 91 of Caldwell, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at home of natural causes. He was born October 11, 1922 in Wilder, Idaho to Bert and Lizzie Stevenson. He was reared and educated in Wilder graduating from Wilder High School in 1940. He attended college for a year and then served in the US Army the next two years. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
Bob married Marion K. Kepler on February 24, 1944. He was employed by Martin Wholesale and later, J. Weil and Company until his retirement in 1985.
Bob was a very hard working man and always made sure that things were taken care of properly. He enjoyed square dancing and bowling. He was on a bowling league for over 40 years. He loved camping and fishing with family and friends. In the late 60's they bought a cabin on the middle fork of the Payette. Bob and Marion spent many years enjoying their cabin in the mountains. When Bob retired, they spent a lot of time traveling in their 5th wheel trailer. In his later years, Bob loved to go watch his grandkids play their different sports and he dearly loved visits from his great-grandkids.
Bob is survived by his brother, Jim Stevenson of Oregon and his sister, Norma Stattner of Caldwell. He is also survived by his children, Larry (Wanda) Stevenson and Dick (Kathy) Stevenson; four grandchildren, Doug (Casie) Stevenson, Lisa (Brett) Klinchuch, Kimi (Todd) Smith, and Corey (Kaylee) Stevenson; and eight great-grandchildren, Austin , Alexis, Caden, Sierra, Aspen, Jordan, Baylee, and Josie all of Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 70 years, Marion. She passed away in January of this year.
There will be a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. April 18, 2014 at the Caldwell United Methodist Church on Logan Street, Caldwell. Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at
