Florence A. Froemming
February 14, 1924 - April 18, 2014
Florence A. Froemming, 90, of Caldwell, peacefully went to be with her Lord and joined her loving husband on Friday, April 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2700 So. Kimball, Caldwell, Idaho, with burial to follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Idaho. A viewing will be held at Grace Lutheran Church prior to the funeral services. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com.
Florence was born on February 14, 1924 in Grand Island, Nebraska, the seventh child born to William and Wilhelminia Knefelcamp Blaise. During the Dust Bowl years, she moved with her family from Nebraska to Idaho to a farm north of Nampa. She attended and graduated from Nampa High School in 1942.
She married LeRoy J. "Hank" Froemming on September 10, 1944 at Zion Lutheran Church in Nampa, a union that lasted 65 years until the death of her husband in May, 2010. They lived and raised their family in Caldwell.
She began her working career in 1962 when her son started school as a part-time clerk at the Canyon County Car License Bureau. As the years went by, she became a full time clerk and ended her work career as the Supervisor of the Canyon County License Bureau. She retired in 1988. After she retired, she was very active in the community working at the Canyon County Fair every year, with the Board of Elections and with her ladies' groups at Grace Lutheran Church.
She loved God, her family, her friends, crocheting doilies, teaching her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to crochet, crafting anything and everything, flowers of every kind, the color blue or aqua, big band music, dancing, playing card games, sewing, quilting, baking, hummingbirds, butterflies, and a good cup of coffee and brisk walk every morning in the fresh air.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Ken) McIntyre, Kathy (Les) Robinson, Larry (Becky) Froemming, all of Caldwell, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hank, and all of her brothers and sisters.
The family would like to give special thanks to Karcher Estates and Heart and Home Hospice for their assistance in caring for our mother. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Grace Lutheran Church, 2700 So. Kimball, Caldwell, Idaho, 83605.
