Alvin "Al" Leroy Horrace, 85, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2014, of natural causes at Autumn Wind in Caldwell, Idaho.

Alvin was born on April 21, 1929 to Roy and Ruby Horrace in Wilder, Idaho. Alvin was raised in Sunny Slope and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1947. Alvin married "the love of his life," Shirley Ford, on May 27, 1948. Alvin, Shirley, son, Ray, and daughter, Beverly moved to a farm in the Parma, Idaho, area where they had two more daughters, Diana and Kathy. He farmed in the Ten Davis Community for over 50 years.

Alvin enjoyed being a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved telling stories of the "good old days", which included him riding in the first 100-mile horse race with his horse, Slicker, when he was only 17. He also liked to go camping and fishing at Cascade, Idaho, where the family lot was and still is. While living in the country, Alvin always had a dog at his side.

Alvin accepted the Lord shortly after he moved to Parma and continued to share his faith the remainder of his life. He attended the Parma Kirkpatrick Presbyterian Church and Deer Flat Free Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ruby; his brother, Jerry; his daughter, Beverly Hibberd; and his great grandson, Caston Sitts. He is survived by son, Ray Horrace, and fiancée, Vicki; daughter, Diana Sitts and husband, Larry; and daughter, Kathy Thomas. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
