The Guest Book is expired.
Marion Irene (Thomas) Randolph, 79, of Nampa passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014. She was born July 19, 1934 in Spokane, Washington. Mom rarely spoke of her early life, but it was a childhood filled with abuse. Children's Services stepped in when mom was a young teen and placed her and her sister in foster care with Dave and Ruby Strong. At that time mom's family was living in Durkee, Oregon and special permission had to be granted to allow her and her sister to cross state lines to live in New Plymouth with the Strong family. In New Plymouth, mom met William (Bill) Randolph on July 4, 1952. They married on October 22 of that same year. To this union four children were born: Charles (Chuck), David (Davey), Cheryl and Susan (Sue). Mom worked at Sears in Caldwell for several years. She would meet dad most every day for lunch, as he worked right across the street at Safeway. Later, mom attended cosmetology school and became a licensed cosmetologist. The family moved to Nampa in 1970. Mom took up painting at that time and several of her paintings remain prized possessions of the family. Mom eventually became co-owner of the Silhouette Beauty Salon in downtown Nampa. After the closing of the Silhouette, mom went to work at Total Image in the Owyhee Shopping Center. She had a large following of "her Ladies" until she retired six years ago.
Soon after retiring she was diagnosed with dementia. The past year was especially rough on dad, being the sole caregiver and not wanting to let his children be burdened with mom's worsening condition. December 2013, a few days before Christmas, mom had a severe fall and the family decided it was time to get her the additional care she needed. Mom was placed in Trinity Mission Assisted Living and after a short while was transferred to the Memory Care Unit. At Trinity she received great care and family was able to visit often. After a sudden, rapid decline in her health, mom passed away peacefully June, 21.
She was preceded in death by her sons Davey and Chuck; sister Babe Mosso and her foster parents Dave and Ruby Strong. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill; daughters Cheryl (Carl) Ady and Susan (Jeff) Jones, seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa. 467-7300 (Visit zeyerfuneralchapel.com to express condolences). Please join us in sharing memories and lunch after the service at the home of Jeff and Sue Jones. While there you can also see dad's new residence on their property. In honor of mom, we ask that you wear the brightest colored clothes possible. Mom loved bright clothing so she would love a service filled with color!
Special thanks to the caregivers at Trinity Mission. A very special thank you to the caregivers from First Choice Home Health and Hospice. They were incredible to work with.
