October 3, 1919 - June 22, 2014
Lida Louise Rorick, 94, died at her home in Caldwell, ID on June 22, 2014. Mrs. Rorick was born October 3, 1919 in Kansas City, Missouri. Her family later moved to Seattle, Washington. In high school, she developed a love for tennis and basketball, but her preferred activity was swimming. She completed her nursing degree at the University of Washington, and it was here that she had a practice pool.
Mrs. Rorick proudly served her country as an ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve. While she was stationed at Pearl Harbor, she met and later married Walter Rorick. They began a long life together in Compton, California and Mrs. Rorick served as a public school nurse until her retirement. She touched the lives of thousands of children, children who simply needed a band aid, a quiet place to regain composure or someone to count on for help. An additional highlight in her life was the day she was baptized. After moving to Caldwell she became an ardent fan of the BSU Broncos football team. She attended every home football game despite rain, sleet, snow and wind.
Lida Rodrick's life was one of love and commitment. She had a solid commitment to Christ Jesus as her Savior and a commitment to share her life and love with honesty and integrity.
She is survived by her two daughters, Katie and Beverly and two grandchildren, William and Elizabeth.
