Barbara Jean Needs
September 2, 1961 - July 31, 2014
Barbara Jean Needs, 52, of Caldwell, met her Savior face to face on July 31, 2014. Services will be held at Nampa Christian High School on Monday, August 4th, 2014 at 10:00 am. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.dakanfuneralchapel.com.
She will truly know God, since she now sees Him face to face. Her seven-year struggle with cancer finally broke her body down, but her spirit and attitude remained faithful to the end. She went out listening to songs of praise to the Lord and tapping her foot to "I'll Fly Away." Barb will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Mark Needs, children Garret and wife Sierra, Geremy and wife Jessica, Gracie, and Genni, her parents Lary and Marian Silver, and siblings Tracy Silver and Cheryl Schierman. She was able to meet and hold seven grandchildren (Mac, Thor, Conrad, Abby, Corbin, Bear, and Colyer) who loved to go to Nana's house so she could give them fruit snacks, cheese sticks, gum, and jump with them on the trampoline.
Her life was exemplified by Phillipians 3:8-10, "Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith - that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and may share His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death."
We grieve not for her, for she is now pain free and praise filled, but we grieve the void she leaves. We will miss her hugs, we will miss her encouragement, we will miss her example, and we will miss her smile. Yet, we look forward to seeing her again, and seeing the One she put her faith in, Christ Jesus our Lord. Sing joyfully, Mom, we will see you soon, we love you.
