Carol Ann McDaniel
July 26, 1943 - October 14, 2012
Carol Ann McDaniel, 69, went home to be with her Lord on October 14, 2012 after a 8-month battle with cancer. Ann was born on July 26, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, to her birth mother, Genrose Irene McCullough. She was later adopted by her maternal great aunt and uncle, Ellsworth and Vera Millsap in December of 1944 in Caldwell, Idaho.
Ann went to Prairie Bible Institute, an all girls' college in Canada from 1961 to 1963. She married Doran Riley on September 4, 1965, and they were blessed with three sons David, Dan and Devin. Ann later married Bill McDaniel on October 21, 1990.
She was an amazing organ and piano player and played for many church choirs and weddings throughout the years. She was an animal lover and owned many dogs and cats, including her beloved corgi, Sadie, who was a dear companion in her final years. She enjoyed traveling with Bill to the mountains and to Jackpot for weekend getaways.
Ann had 11 grandkids and always went to their sporting events, plays, and concerts. She was blessed with a very close friend, Kelli White, who also happened to be her niece. The two of them enjoyed long talks, eating out and going to movies together. Ann appreciated the continued support of her friends and co-workers at Kohl's who supported her throughout her cancer journey.
After moving to Silvercrest Estates she enjoyed the company of her next door neighbor, Dorel McFarland. Dorel was a huge blessing and helped Ann in many ways, especially in the wonderful care of Sadie.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Vera and Ellsworth Hamilton Millsap.
She is survived by her sons, David and Trina Riley and their children, Micaela, Lane, Alana, Jace and Claire; Dan and Val Riley and their children, Brycin, Breanna, Deston, and Danycia; Devin and Kari Riley and their children, Braden and Kayla.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at MSTI in Nampa for all of their amazing care of Ann over the last 8 months. We have been extremely blessed by the support and care of the many family and friends who have walked through this journey with Ann and with us.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20, at the Montana Baptist Church, 3120 S. Montana Ave. in Caldwell. A private family inurnment will be held at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
