Grace Foster
1926 - 2013
Grace Barney Foster of Caldwell passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2013. Grace was born June 17, 1926 at Idmon, Idaho. She married Wally Foster on January 2, 1945 while she attending business school in Salt Lake City and he was stationed at Wendover, Utah, they were married for 57 years when Wally died in 2002.
They made their final home in the Boise Valley where they raised their 3 daughters.
Grace retired from the Idaho Department of Transportation 1989. Her job allowed her to travel twice a year to several places in the United States, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
After Grace retired her and Wally traveled all over the U.S and Canada, and spent many summers fishing in Alaska.
Grace loved to paint and was proud of the many ribbons she was awarded at the Idaho State Fair, and the Canyon County Fair.
Grace was very involved in many activities; including Camp Fire Girls, 4-H Leader, The Eagles, VFW, Family History Center and she was still active in Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Grace is survived by her daughters Gloria (Jim) Steffen, Kathleen Foster, Sheila Cumpton, 3 grand daughters, 2 grandsons and several great-grand children, and many nieces and nephews.
Our mother was a very gracious and hospitable hostess and loved to set an extra plate at the table for company.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House or Canyon County Animal Shelter.
A Remembrance of Gracie will be held at the Graveside Thursday March 14, 1:00 at Terrace Lawns Memorial Gardens.
