Betty Mae Schober passed away on March 23, 2013, after a long battle with fibromyalgia, at a hospital in Meridian, ID. Daughter of William and Mary Plush, Betty was born on September 17, 1930, in McIntosh, South Dakota. Her family moved to Nampa, ID in 1943. She started her education at Central Elementary and then graduated from Nampa High School in 1947. She married Wesley R. Schober on December 22, 1948, and began to build a family together. In these early years she worked as a bank teller, at Amalgamated Sugar, later transitioning to homemaker and working to support the growing family farming operation.
Betty could be found driving tractor, overseeing the farm accounts, and spent 25 years running corn detasseling crews. Music was a large part of her life playing the accordion, piano, and organ for several churches. Betty also remained active in many local civic groups by supporting Nampa Christian Schools annual auction, the Christian Woman's Club, and the Nampa Civic Center Auxiliary.
Betty is survived by her husband Wesley Schober of 64 years, her four children and spouses.
