Ilene Marie Wilcox, 85, was born October 14, 1927 in Erick, Oklahoma to Berkley Brindle and Nellie Jane (Mull) Baker. She came from Oklahoma to Oregon with her mother and two sisters on a train. Her father followed later. Her family lived on Cemetery Hill and they were the caretakers of the Nyssa Cemetery for several years. In January of 1943, she married Alvin Mason, and to this union three daughters were born. Following a divorce from Alvin, Ilene met Glenn Owen Wilcox and they were married in 1949. Three more daughters followed. The family resided in Glenn's Ferry, Nampa, and Pocatello while Glenn worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. She eventually returned to Nampa where she worked and retired from Checkmate Industries. Upon retirement, Ilene was called on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to her home state of Oklahoma.
Ilene was a faithful member of the church and faithfully held many positions. She took pride in feeding the missionaries, helping her neighbors, and volunteering in the community. She has spent her last three years as a resident of the Beehive House in Nampa.
She is survived by daughters, Marline Bodenman (Coeur d'Alene, ID), Carol (Jerry) Crow (Donnelly, ID), Glenna Sue (Bert) Patrick (Nampa, ID), Debra (Doug) Alexander (Boise Co., ID), and Cindy (Frank) McCubbin (Wenatchee, WA); 13 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a little brother; Berkley Jr.; an infant daughter, Frances Kay; and sisters, Joy Huffman and Ella Humphreys.
