Joan Sweitzer
INKOM - Joan Sweitzer, 79, passed away Thursday morning, May 17th, 2012, at a local care facility.
Joan was born June 24, 1932, in Saginaw, Pa. She married Jim Sweitzer September 8, 1951. Joan and Jim had 3 sons, Stephen, Eric, and Matt. Joan was a very loving and kind mother and wife who supported her sons in many activities such as Scout den mother, Sunday school teacher and little league baseball.
As a child Joan spent a lot of time along the banks of the Susquehanna River where she was raised and felt very much at home. Joan and Jim moved to Inkom in 1987 to join their sons and be grandparents to their 3 grandchildren. While in Inkom, Joan and Jim attended the Inkom Bible Church where they really enjoyed spending time with many friends.
She is survived by her husband James, of 60 years of marriage; sons, Stephen, Eric (Kris) and Matt (Vickie); grandchildren, Sadie (Bob), Shilo and Stetson; great-grandchildren Bryson and Blake; sisters, Nancy (Don), Susan (Stan); brother Donald (Elaine) and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the many friends and caregivers for their time and support during her sickness.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, at 2 p.m. in the Inkom Community Bible Church in Inkom with Pastor Russ Blair presiding.
