James "Pat" Richmond
January 8, 1936 - July 7, 2013
James "Pat" Richmond, 77, formerly of Pocatello and Lake Oswego, Ore. died peacefully July 7 in Pocatello, ID at a local care center.
Richmond was preceded in death by his parents, Randle and Gertrude Richmond, also of Lake Oswego, OR. He is survived by his twin, Michael Richmond (Alice) of Jupiter, Fla., Joseph Richmond (Lydia) of Pocatello, Jerry Richmond (Mary) of Whitmore, CA, his dear cousin Dick Johnson of Lake Oswego, Ore. and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born January 8, 1936 in Hot Springs, Ark. Richmond grew up in Pocatello where he attended St. Joseph School. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1953 and attended Idaho State University before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps
from 1954 to 1957. He received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Portland State University in Portland, Ore. and was employed by Allstate Insurance Company in Portland, Ore.
Richmond later was a manufacturer's representative for a New York City women's apparel company and also co-owner of a women's apparel store in the Lake Grove-Tigard, OR area. He also owned a taxi company serving the Lake Oswego-West Linn, OR region.
Inspired by other cultures, Richmond served as an English teacher in Thailand and later lived in Vietnam and the Philippines. He was a beloved brother and loyal friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. A Catholic Rosary service will be held at Downard Funeral Chapel, 241 North Garfield Ave, Pocatello, Idaho tonight, Wednesday, July 17th at 6:30 pm.
