Betty Robinson passed from this part of her life on March 2nd, 2013 at the age of 89.
She was born January 24, 1924 in Inglewood, California to Austin and Isabel Gray Means. She was the youngest of four daughters. Betty grew up and spent the first 48 years in California. She moved to Lava Hot Springs in 1972 with her husband Walter C. Davis and made many wonderful friends, then moved to Pocatello in 1977. She worked at Park Price Motors, ISU Diesel Program and Great Western Malting Co.
In her younger years she had married Oscar Butler and had two daughters and a son. This marriage ended in divorce. After being a single Mom for eleven years she married Walt Davis in Las Vegas and became the step-mother to two boys. This marriage was sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Walt and Betty also had three foster sons for a period of time.
Betty had joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when she was 24 years old and served in many callings in the church throughout her life. She and Walt served a mission for the church in Pennsylvania and West Virginia from 1979-81.
After Walt's death Betty married Howard W. Robinson and they had four happy years together until his death.
In her later years Betty wrote many stories of her life experiences, for her family.
Betty was surrounded with a loving, supportive family and dear friends. She was blessed with a gentle and loving nature and a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed.
Betty loved to read and her books were very precious to her. She enjoyed sewing and made clothes thru the years for her family. Betty enjoyed collecting sea shells, silver spoons and rubber stamps which she used to create cards and scrapbook pages. She enjoyed Dixieland Jazz and attended many Jazz Festivals.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Stan Wilson, Pat and Kent Hill. Her son Greg Butler died in 1997. Her step sons are Aaron Davis and Jhan Davis. She is survived by the following grandchildren, Rebecca Asmuth, Rachel Hanna, Stanley Wilson Jr. Vicki Darrow, Kent A. Hill, Brant Hill, Teri Jean Hill, Seth Hill and Roy Hill and their families. She is survived by and dearly loved by her many great grandchildren. She also is survived by many beloved Step Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Betty had three special nieces, Grace Perrine, Sherry Bisgaard and Nancy Bond.
Betty's family wants to thank all of her dear friends and members of her Highland Eleventh Ward and to the Highland Sixth Ward for being so good to her.
The funeral will take place Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 2000 S. Fairway in Pocatello, at 11am. There will a viewing and family will receive friends from 10am to 10:45am prior to service.
Burial will be in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery. Interment will be at 3pm and those wishing to join her family are very welcomed.
